Montreal Canadiens Alumni
The Montreal Canadiens Alumni Lounge is a space built on history. This nostalgia-filled room inside the Bell Centre brings to life the stories of the franchise's greatest players. When the lounge was renovated, it needed a centrepiece that matched its legacy: a hero wall that honours generations of Habs icons and sets the tone as soon as you walk in. This is the story of the illustrated mural created for that purpose.

The Ask.
Scotiabank and the Montreal Canadiens wanted to create a hero wall for the newly renovated Alumni Lounge, making it a standout feature in a space honouring the team's most celebrated players. The project was about capturing emotion as much as it was about design. The artwork had to bring together decades of Canadiens history into a single piece, honouring heroes from both the past and the present, and making a strong first impression on everyone who enters.
The strategy.
The idea focused on a collage, creating a layered illustrated tribute that brings together generations of Canadiens legends into one hero wall. Instead of showing each player as a separate portrait, this approach blends the past and present into a single piece, building a sense of continuity, dynasty, and shared legacy. A bold and unique illustration style gives the wall a strong presence in the room, turning familiar faces into a single statement about what it means to wear bleu-blanc-rouge.
The Solution.
The finished mural creates a strong first impression at the entrance to the Alumni Lounge. This hero wall stands proudly with the history of the Canadiens before they even step inside. The collage of past and present icons turns the space into a tribute you can feel, making the lounge a place rooted in storytelling and a legacy. Bold, branded, and unmistakably Montreal, the artwork gives one of hockey's most storied franchises a centrepiece as memorable as the legends it honours.
