How Projects Work
-
Yes. I offer monthly retainers for businesses that need ongoing creative support without hiring a full-time Art Director.
Retainers can include brand management, creative direction, website updates, packaging, marketing materials, social media, SEO coordination, presentations, and campaign design. Each agreement defines available hours, priorities, response times, and what's included, with larger projects quoted separately when needed. If your business has regular design needs, I can build a retainer that fits your workflow and budget.
-
My design process has three stages: Discovery, Direction, and Development. First, I learn about your business, audience, competitors, and goals. Next, I create a strategic creative direction with positioning, messaging, and visual concepts. Finally, I develop the approved brand identity, packaging, website, campaign, or other deliverables.
Each stage includes presentations, feedback, and refinements to ensure the work supports your business objectives. Final files are prepared for production with launch support or a smooth handoff when the project is complete.
-
Projects start with a discovery meeting to discuss your goals, audience, timeline, budget, and deliverables. Afterward, you'll receive a proposal outlining the project scope, schedule, revisions, fees, payment milestones, and responsibilities.
Once the proposal is approved, the contract is signed, and the deposit is received, the project is scheduled. A kickoff meeting confirms timelines, communication, and key decision-makers. To get started, send a brief description of your project, your target launch date, and any known deliverables.
-
Project timelines depend on the scope of work. Smaller design projects typically take 1–3 weeks, brand identity projects 6–10 weeks, and websites or packaging systems 8–16 weeks.
The timeline is influenced by project complexity, the number of deliverables, client feedback, content readiness, and technical or regulatory requirements. Clear communication and timely approvals help keep projects on schedule. If you have a specific launch date, let me know early so I can recommend the best timeline and approach.
-
Every design project is quoted individually. Pricing depends on the scope, complexity, deliverables, and timeline. Most projects are priced as a fixed fee, while ongoing creative support is available on a monthly retainer.
Smaller projects may start in the low thousands, while branding, packaging, and website design projects often require a five-figure investment. Your proposal clearly outlines what's included, project timelines, and any additional costs. Share your goals, timeline, and approximate budget, and I'll recommend the best solution for your business.
-
Branding costs vary depending on the scope and business goals. A project can include brand strategy, positioning, messaging, logo design, visual identity, brand guidelines, marketing materials, and launch assets.
Some businesses need a simple brand refresh, while others require a complete strategic brand system. The right approach depends on your audience, objectives, and growth plans. After a discovery call, you'll receive a tailored proposal with a clear scope, timeline, and fixed project fee.
-
Packaging design costs depend on the scope of the project. Pricing is influenced by the number of SKUs, package formats, target markets, production requirements, and the level of strategy involved.
Projects can include brand strategy, packaging concepts, bilingual or regulatory content, print-ready artwork, dielines, production support, and scalable packaging systems. Whether you need a single label or a complete product line, you'll receive a proposal with a clear scope, timeline, and fixed project fee.
-
Website design costs depend on your goals, features, and platform. Projects can include website strategy, UX/UI design, SEO, content planning, Squarespace, Shopify or custom development, e-commerce, analytics, and ongoing support.
Whether you need a new website, a redesign, or improvements to an existing site, you'll receive a proposal with a clear scope, timeline, and fixed project fee. Share your current website, business goals, and required features to get started.
-
Yes. Once the project is complete, final payment has been received and ownership has been transferred under the project agreement, you can apply to register the logo as a trademark.
Trademark registration is a separate legal process. A registered trademark agent or intellectual property lawyer can search for conflicting marks, assess whether the logo is eligible and prepare the application.
Working Together, Wherever You Are.
-
Yes, I have worked with clients across the world. Remote projects include brand strategy, brand identity, packaging design, website design, creative campaigns, and ongoing art direction.
Every project starts with clear timelines, deliverables, communication preferences, and local requirements, including packaging regulations when needed. Collaboration is managed through video calls, email, and shared documents, making it easy to work across time zones. If you're outside Canada, send your location, project goals, and target launch date to discuss your project.
-
Remote design projects follow a structured process to keep communication clear and timelines on track. Every project starts with a discovery call to define goals, deliverables, timelines, and key decision-makers.
The process typically includes strategy, creative direction, design development, presentations, feedback, and final delivery. Video calls are used for major reviews, while email and shared documents keep feedback organized. I also work directly with internal marketing teams, developers, printers, and other partners to ensure projects run smoothly, regardless of location.
-
International payments are simple. Projects can be billed in Canadian or U.S. dollars, with the currency, payment schedule, deposit, and terms confirmed before work begins. Fixed-scope projects typically start with a deposit, followed by milestone payments or a final balance. Retainer clients are invoiced on a recurring schedule. Payments are usually made by electronic bank transfer or another agreed business payment method.
Invoices can include your company’s billing details, tax information, purchase order numbers, and other vendor requirements. Final files are delivered once the agreed payment terms have been met.

I can provide creative direction, brand oversight, design, packaging, website design, presentations, campaigns, and production support. Whether leading projects or supporting an existing team, I adapt to your workflow, define clear responsibilities, and build design systems that help teams work more efficiently and consistently.

Brand Strategy, Identity & Growth
-
A strong brand helps businesses grow by creating consistent systems for marketing, websites, packaging, sales materials, and customer experiences. As your business expands, clear brand guidelines, scalable design systems, and consistent messaging make it easier to launch new products, enter new markets, and support larger teams. The goal is to reduce complexity, strengthen brand recognition, and ensure every customer interaction reflects the same high standard.
-
A company should consider rebranding when its current brand no longer reflects the business, confuses customers or limits growth. Common triggers include new ownership, a strategic shift, expansion into new markets, a merger, outdated visuals, inconsistent messaging or products that no longer fit the original system. A full rebrand is not always necessary. A brand refresh may update the identity and messaging while preserving valuable recognition. A brand audit can identify what is working, what is outdated and whether the business needs refinement or a complete rebuild. Start by documenting what has changed in the company and where the current brand creates friction.
-
Effective branding can support business growth by improving recognition, building trust, and helping customers understand why they should choose your business.
A strong brand can increase qualified leads, improve conversions, support premium pricing, strengthen packaging visibility, and create a more consistent customer experience. While branding isn't a replacement for a great product or sales strategy, it provides the foundation that helps marketing and sales perform more effectively over time.
Websites, SEO & Conversion
-
SEO helps your website get found by the right people, while AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) helps your content become the answer. SEO improves visibility in search engines like Google, while AEO helps AI-powered search tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews understand, trust, and reference your content.
Effective SEO and AEO combine technical optimization with clear, helpful, well-structured content. This includes descriptive page titles, logical headings, FAQs, case studies, internal links, fast-loading pages, structured information, and original expert content that directly answers common customer questions. These improvements make your website easier for search engines, AI systems, and visitors to understand.
If your website isn't generating qualified traffic or appearing in AI search results, an SEO and AEO audit can identify the content, technical issues, and opportunities that will have the greatest impact on your online visibility.
-
Good design improves conversions by making it easier for visitors to understand your business, trust your brand, and take action. A well-designed website guides users through a clear journey with intuitive navigation, strong visual hierarchy, readable typography, mobile-friendly layouts, and prominent calls to action.
High-converting websites also combine UX design with SEO and AEO, ensuring content is easy for both people and AI search engines to understand. Case studies, testimonials, FAQs, and clear process explanations help answer questions, build credibility, and reduce hesitation before a visitor contacts you or makes a purchase.
If your website receives traffic but isn't generating leads or sales, a UX, SEO, and AEO audit can identify the friction points and opportunities to improve conversions.
