Ardo / VLM
Preserving nature’s gifts.
Ardo/VLM is a global leader in food integrity, partnering with growers and brands from field to market. To bring personality and a sense of place into their offices, they turned to an existing signature piece, the Montreal Monuments illustration, and asked to make it their own. This is the story of how one original artwork was expanded, re-coloured and transformed into a custom mural program built specifically for the Ardo brand.

The Ask.
Ardo/VLM asked for a mural in their offices, using the existing Montreal Monuments art piece as the starting point. Instead of creating a new design, they wanted to adapt and enhance this illustration to suit their space and brand. We recoloured it with the Ardo palette and expanded it to cover several walls. The aim was to add warmth, character, and a strong local feel to the office, making the walls something employees and visitors would enjoy seeing.
The strategy.
We started with the original Montreal Monuments artwork and turned it into a custom installation for Ardo/VLM. We updated the entire piece using Ardo’s colour palette so it matched the brand, and added new monuments to fill the extra wall space across several murals. To make the project feel personal, we included small Ardo Easter eggs throughout the artwork. These subtle branded details encourage people to look closer and give the murals a sense of discovery, personality, and ownership that is unique to the company.
The Solution.
The result is a series of custom murals that turn a favourite signature illustration into something unmistakably Ardo. Using the brand’s colours ties the artwork to the company’s identity, while the larger monuments add depth and scale. Hidden Easter eggs make the walls a fun conversation starter. This is more than just office decor—it’s a branded space that brings energy and local character into the workplace. It shows how a strong illustration can be adapted to tell a brand’s unique story.
